Scrapbook Page Layout to cut on Cricut if you have SCAL

I have created another complete layout for your scrapbook page, to cut out on your Cricut if you have the Sure Cuts A Lot software. This is a versatile mosaic type page. By rotating it or flipping it, you can vary the placement of the picture and make it look different. If you cut out two separate layouts from double-sided paper, you can interchange the pieces to get the patchwork look. The svg file includes the frame with the rectangles, and the hearts, circles and stars, to mix and match for embellishments. The lollipop came from the paper dolls cartridge. The font I used for the lettering was 2 PEAS GIGGLE.I sized the frames to be able to be cut from a 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper. If you have a 12x12 piece of paper on the mat, you will be able to fit the letters for your titles on the right hand side of the paper.

The block for the photo is 4 x 4 inches. You could put 2x2 inch photos in some of the squares. You can let the background paper show through on some of the squares too. You could embellish the squares with stickers, instead of the cut outs.
Though I used Christmas paper, and paper will do. Using double sided paper, where there is a coordinating color or pattern on the back, just simplifies your cutting.
The paper I used was a Martha Stewart paper pad I picked up at Walmart, at the clearance sale. I might go see if they have any at 75% off.

These are an assortment of great svg files to cut on your cricut, if you have SCAL. I didn't cut them all, some of then have A LOT OF DETAIL.. You many want to simplify them before cutting, maybe not by removing nodes, but some of the small stuff it cuts out. Since the Cricut does all the work, and I'm only making one, I just let it do its thing.

Dancer Silhouette Svg Files

These silhouettes svg files were creted from freely available images on the internet. I thought they were just delightful, and did the bit map conversion on the files, so they could be cut on the Cricut if you have the sure cuts a lot software.

There are some ballet dancers, some children doing a dance, a folk dancer, and a girl who looks like she might be riding a horse in the circut.

Decorating for Christmas with your Cricut...Free SVG Snowflake Letters

I'm getting ready for Christmas and thinking about decorating. Last year I bought Dollar Tree Snowflakes to hang in my Florida home. This year, I thought it would be nice to make a snowflake banner on my cricut. I went ahead an made all the letters of the alphabet, like a font, except these are all in one svg file. If you open the svg file in inkscape, you can cut and paste the letters you want to cut out into a new file. I was able to cut 4 snowflake letters out of a 12x12 piece of paper, making them about 6 ". I put a hanger on the top. and used thread to connect the letters. I plan to hang them on the columns at the entrance to my living room, where I will soon put up the Christmas tree. I made mine spell, WINTER WONDERLAND. These would be nice in the classroom, to say, Mrs. Moonies room, or to let each kid make out their name. You could hang them vertically from the ceiling and make a lovely, festive, wintery display that is non-denominational.

Free Svg Sweetheart Frame to cut on your Cricut!

This frame is made using the font SP Sweetie Pie. All the embellishments come from the font. I just opened up inkscape, and drew two rectangles. Then I selected the font SP Sweetie Pie, and clicked set default. Then I selected the text input mode(the A on the left menu bar). Then I typed in each letter of the alphabet, keeping the ones I thought I might want on the frame. Important step: A font must be converted to a path before it will show up in SCAL Sure Cuts A Lot. Select the letter, then select Path-object to path

Paula's Christmas Village

Today my teenage neighbor Paula came over ,and played around with the winter_christmas_scene_components and improved upon my first layout. I think I still put it rotated a little too much to the left, but the perspective around the lake looks better this time. She had fun moving things around, so don't be afraid to try it with your granddaughter or daughter or teenage friend too. I'll add to the components file our lake and surrounding snow, which will give you a head start. To be able to scale this scene to 12x12 paper, I had to make 3 svgs. When using the last file, I layed it out, so you can do one column of houses one color(of use yellow first, as the lights for the street lights are there), the next another, the next another, to add some variety to the scene. THe white that cuts in the middle of the snow, are the snow covered roofs of all the houses. Look at the pictures to see how they look. If you use too heavy card stock, you'll have trouble with the tiny, windows and the candy canes by the doors. Normal scrapbook card board is correct.

Brr it's Cold Inside

Look inside this shadow box to feel the chill of a cold winter morning in the forest. Of course, I live in FLorida, so maybe I've gotten it all wrong. That bear would probably hibernating, after all!









Just another application of the forest components files I posted yesterday. I sized the svgs to be six x six inches to fit within this small frame. I was too cheap to buy the bigger ones that were 10 and 15 dollars. They do have nice shadow box frames at BIG LOTS for that price though. I was just trying this art project out, to see if it would work.

I saw larger scenes like this made by hand selling for $120.00! I'm not saying you could sell these for that, but perhaps they would make a nice gift for someone.

I'm going to work on some Christmas scene components this morning. Perhaps Santa and his sleigh, snowmen, and snow covered houses?

Luck of the Irish

Need some Luck of the Irish? I think we all do! At least the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I don't have a real pot, but I do have one you can cut on your Cricut if you have SCAL.


I also have a shamrock and an Irish Harp. You'll have to look at the Harp file, and see how you want to color separate it. Or just cut it as it is, remove the parts you want to be a different color, glue it onto solid background of a different color.

Scrapbooks Etc Paper Piecing patterns

Scrapbook Etc has some nice paper piecing patterns. I enjoy the fact that they show you a page using them too. I don't know about you, but I am often at a loss on what to do to make a pleasing page, with just die cuts. Here are two pages I created using the nature scene paper piecings link http://www.scrapbooksetc.com/magazine/piecetalk/nature-scene-piecings_ss1.html. The patterns are free to print and can be easily converted to an svg file for cutting on your Cricut wit h SCAL. If you need some help with that, I'll gladly give you a hand on getting an svg file.

Welcome to my Blog

I have been scrapbooking for 20 years, but haven't had as much fun, as since I got my Cricut and the Sure Cuts A Lot Program. I enjoy creating new svg files to cut from resources I find all over the internet. I've collected many fonts that can be cut easily on the cricut, or used to create die cuts. I've been sharing my files and expertise on several sites, the Surecutsalotusers group on yahoo and the forum http://forums.surecutsalot.com/ are two of them. It was getting complicated uploaded my files to both sites, so I've decided to create this blog. That way I can add pictures, instructions and additional information with each file.
