I was wandering around the font libraries this morning and found this great font, called Christmas Cheer Font by Dani Foster Herring. It can be found here,
http://www.fontspace.com/dani-foster-herring/christmas-cheerand downloaded for free. It looks like stamped messages, you might put inside a Christmas card, So I was immediately inspired to make my note cards into a larger, personalized Christmas card.
I used Microsoft word to type in my message(using the font above, I selected two of the "stamps" and our names. Then I changed the note card file to a "big card" format, where it will cut a scalloped edge around my word printed card inside message. I imported it into scal, setting the library size to 7.5. That gave me two parts, the front of the card, and the message part that would fit on two 8 1/2 x 11 inch card stock.
Cut out the two pieces, and glue the inside to the front. You get this professional looking Christmas card personalized with your own message!
You could even print a photo of your family on the inside directly on the card stock, if you wanted, or make 4 slits to insert your professionally printed photo into.
Step 1: Download and install the christmas Cheer font
Step 2: Open this document in Microsoft Word and change the names to your names. ALso there are 24 other stamps you can choose from and may like better! Save the document and print on card stock in your printer.
Step 3. Download one of the cards I changed into the new format. Import into SCAL after setting library size to 7.5 inches. I use the 12x24 inch mat. If you don't, you'll have to cut one side, then the other. Scal is smart enough not to cut what is off your mat size you select. Place your card front paper on the left mat, at the top. so 11 inch goes across. Place your pre-printed card inside paper on the right side of the mat, the same way.
If you have the note cards, you can use the layout of one of my big cards, to change any of those cards to this format(using inkscape). I'm not going to do them all. I don't even send out Christmas Cards, Though these are so nice, I'm tempted! I did most of them tonight..a few more for tomorrow
Step 4. Cut out in scal and paste the two sides together. That is all there is to it!
Here is an envelope size to fit the cards. Open this project in SCAL:
or IMPORT the svg. Make it as large as will fit on 12x12 paper.
