You know what how they always ask, "Hey, Famous guy! What are you gonna do now that you've won the Superbowl?" He always replies, "I'm going to Disney World". We may not be a famous guy or gal, but most of us have made that trip one or two times, and have the photos to prove it. Now we want to create an exciting, beautiful scrapbook highlighting our visit, using our Cricut, of course.
If you have the money, you can buy new cartridges from ProvoCraft that feature many famous cartoon Characters, from princesses to tigers to mice. Since I'm watching my budget, I bought Sure Cuts A Lot, which lets you cut any svg file on your Cricut or use any font.
You can find a lot of nice fonts that will help you complete your travel pages. Walt Disney Script is just what it sounds like, a font that lets you write Walt Disney World just like Walt would. JLR Mouse House looks like the famous castle containing each letter of the alphabet.(download from

Mickey Ears is similar, but has the popular ears shape. I see they added a Mickey Ears Extra Font as well.

There is one for halloween, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc. I have had success just selecting the font in scal. Resize it. Cut two copies...One in black, one in white. Interchange the pieces. I just color with markers the red shorts and the yellow buttons.
The only problem with this, is it doesn't give you a "mat" to glue your pieces to. You have to go ahead and glue it onto your scrapbooking page, Sometimes I'm not ready to do that quite yet.
If you are familiar with inkscape, You can select the font. Type in the character corresponding to the picture you want. Highlight the character(use arrow menu selector). Select path:path to object. Select path:break apart. You can then separate the pieces apart. You can do the background all in black, then just overlay the white pieces on that, instead of cutting two complete mickey's. It even allows you to move his shorts over to the red paper area.
In my next post, I'll tell you where you might find some clip art or other svg files, you can convert and cut on your Cricut.
Some great silhouette fonts...Remember I already posted a list of a bunch of silhoutte fonts in an earlier post. These are new fonts I'lve downloaded since then.
The fonts ornamental decoration and ornamental elements II give lots of flourishes and design ellements.
Designer Stuff font has more page elements, nice flourishes. The Housing font has all kinds of building silhouettes(also by Klein). the Lp leaves font has flora and fauna you can cut without Inkscape intervention.
