New ! Lakes & Links Fishing Tournament

We are always looking for something fun for our guests to do and thought " They love to fish and love to golf -why don't we let them do both? Let's do it for cash! So, we have put together what we think is an awesome tournament - one day of golf at the Eagle River Golf Course and one day of fishing Little St. Germain Lake to win cash money! The tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday June 3 and 4, 2011 (which, by the way is free fishing weekend in Wisconsin so you don't even have to have a license!) and we plan on making it a yearly event.




The fee of $ 199 per person (2 person teams) includes 2 nights of lodging, 18 holes of golf with boxed lunch, a $50 entry fee for the tournament, and Sunday morning breakfast banquet. We'll even provide a boat and motor for fishing if you don't have one! The cash awards will be based on the entries - it is 100% payback so the more that enter, the more you can win!

Angel on My Shoulder at the Bear's Den

Packers vs. Bears Story:

We had an interesting development at the Packers Party for Angel on My Shoulder at the Bear"s Den last night.

Owner Joe Minaudo, an avid Chicago Bears Fan, wore his Bears jersey to tease Packers Gilbert Brown, William Henderson, and Dorsey Levens; the banter was hilar...ious!

Bar manager Sandi Stern approached Gilbert (unbeknownst to Joe) and asked "If I raise $500.00 for Angel, will you throw Joe in the lake?" He responded "You bet!" She proceeded to raise the money in less than 1/2 hour - apparently there were a lot of people who wanted to see Joe get wet!

All 3 of the Packers dragged Joe down to the lake, gave him a lecture on home team loyalty, and promptly hoisted him into the lake. We always knew he was wet behind the ears!

Fun was had by all at the 1st Annual Ice Golf Tournament at Black Bear Lodge -- a benefit for the Vilas County Food Pantry. A generous array of door prizes and raffles were donated by the St. Germain Golf Club, Trout Lake Golf Club, Pinewood Country Club and Black Bear Lodge. The St. Germain Golf Club had a display at the Bear's Den and sold golf gear at great pre-season prices!
