Another Christmas House

I made one more house, to add more variety to our Christmas Village. I also wanted to point out that you need to cut a piece of vellum to go behind the open windows and doors. I just hand cut it, because it didn't need to be exact. Just one large piece that fits behind the front of the house. That is so the candle won't show.

I think it helps to use a bone folder or something to make sharper folds. I notice mine tend to drift toward being unsquare. I might just glue them all together! Of course, then I'd have to make more for next year, as they wouldn't fold up for storage.

By the way, if your houses will be visable from both sides, cut out two of the "fronts". If they are on a mantle or against a wall, use the front and back without the windows.

Cut These Lovely Houses on your Cricut...if you have SCAL

This web site had a nice post for a Christmas Craft Gift Idea. From

    http://www.dreamhomedecorating.com/christmas-craft-gift.html
    It says:

The inspiration for this Christmas craft gift idea came from 16th-century Renaissance houses in my native Germany.

You can download three of the ‘houses’ as free craft patterns at the bottom of this page, and turn them into a Christmas craft project - the whole row of them, or just one or two.

The houses look great as lanterns with tea lights inside (place the tea light in a glass for safety!) and they’re perfect for decorating a mantel, or as Christmas window decorations.

Instructions and pdf file patterns are provided there and you can get them. Of course, I wanted to do all the cutting on my cricut so I converted the files to svg to make cutting patterns for the cricut. The original files are copyrighted by dreamhomedecorating.com.

Two page Winter/Christmas Layout

This beautiful wintry day is captured perfectly by the little cottage in the woods. Outside it may be snowy, but inside the children are laughing. The elves are getting the tree outside ready for Christmas, while the animals watch on. Christmas time is family time was added with 2peas Giggle font. I simplified the tree before cutting, but it still took about ten minutes. I think you could delete some of the small nodes within the tree and have it still look find.
